Mapping your domain is an important part of sites.haverford.edu; it reinforces the idea that you don’t necessarily need to host all your own applications. You should, however, be mindful of making your web presences part of a domain you control. If you would like to map a subdomain and have not yet created it, use\u00a0this tutorial on creating subdomains<\/a>\u00a0before proceeding. To map your domain, or a subdomain, to Blogger, use these steps:<\/p>\n

  1. Log in and navigate to your cPanel. Click the\u00a0Search box<\/strong>\u00a0at the top, right-hand corner and type \u201cDNS<\/abbr>\u201d (without the quotes).<\/li>\n
  2. Click on the\u00a0Zone Editor<\/strong>\u00a0icon.<\/li>\n
  3. Find the domain (or subdomain) you want to map to Blogger in the list and click Manage<\/strong>.\n

    Create a new\u00a0CNAME<\/strong> record by clicking Add Record<\/strong>. To save, click Add Record.\"\"Keep this window open; you will need it in later steps.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n

    In a new window, go to the Blogger website, and login with your Blogger\/Google username and password.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n

    From your Blogger Dashboard, find the blog you’d like to use, expand the\u00a0More Options<\/strong>\u00a0menu, and click\u00a0Settings<\/strong>.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n

    On the \u201cBasic Settings\u201d page, find the Publishing section, and click the\u00a0Setup a 3rd party\u00a0URL<\/abbr>\u00a0for your blog<\/strong>\u00a0link.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n

    Under\u00a0Advanced Settings<\/strong>, type the full subdomain or domain you are mapping into the box, leave the\u00a0Use missing files host?<\/strong>\u00a0option set to\u00a0No<\/strong>, then click\u00a0Save<\/strong>.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n

    You will be presented with a message that your domain cannot be verified, along with information about your existing\u00a0DNS<\/abbr>\u00a0entry, and an additional\u00a0DNS<\/abbr>\u00a0entry that needs to be made. This is normal. Copy the second entry under the\u00a0Name, Label, or Host entry<\/strong>\u00a0to your clipboard.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n

    Go back to the window or tab containing the\u00a0Zone Editor<\/strong>\u00a0in your CreateUK cPanel. Create another records\u00a0by clicking\u00a0Add a Record<\/strong>. Paste the text you just copied into the\u00a0Name<\/strong>\u00a0field. This information will be different for each domain. Set the\u00a0TTL<\/strong>\u00a0field to 14400, and the\u00a0Type<\/strong>\u00a0drop-down menu to\u00a0CNAME<\/strong>.\u00a0\"\"<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Go back to the window or tab containing the Blogger Advanced settings panel, and copy the second entry under the\u00a0Destination, Target, or Points to<\/strong>\u00a0column to your clipboard.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n

      Go back to the window or tab containing the\u00a0Advanced\u00a0DNS<\/abbr>\u00a0Zone Editor<\/strong>\u00a0in your createuky.net cPanel. In the\u00a0Zone File Records<\/strong>\u00a0section, find the domain you were editing\u00a0Action<\/strong>\u00a0for and paste the text you just copied into the\u00a0CNAME<\/strong>\u00a0field. This information will be different for each domain. Click\u00a0Add record\u00a0<\/strong>when you are done.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n

      Return to the window or tab containing the Blogger Advanced settings panel, and click\u00a0Save<\/strong>.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n

      If everything was successful, your domain will now appear as the\u00a0Blog Address<\/strong>. Keep in mind that it may take up to 72 hours for your domain or subdomain to correctly point all visitors to the correct location.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
